退伍军人奖学金

退伍军人

Thomas More University is proud of its long standing relationship with the veterans that have courageously served this country. The University welcomes men and women who have served to apply and promises a continued commitment to America’s veterans through the participation in the 黄丝带计划 of the Post 9/11 Veteran’s Educational Act of 2008.

The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program is a provision of the Post 9/11 退伍军人 Educational Assistance Act of 2008. The program is designed to help students avoid up to 100 percent of their out-of-pocket tuition and fees associated with education programs that may exceed the Post 9/11 GI Bill® 学费的好处. This benefit will pay up to 100 percent of the public in-state tuition, 但它最多只能覆盖17美元,500 a year for private colleges and universities. The actual tuition and fee costs may exceed these amounts if students are attending a private school or are attending a public school as a nonresident student. 这就是YRP可以提供帮助的地方.

Like the other Post 9/11 GI Bill® programs, Yellow Ribbon benefits are payable for training pursued on or after August 1, 2009. No payments can be made under this program for training pursued before that date.

To qualify to receive the Yellow Ribbon benefits students must meet the following criteria:

  1. Served an aggregate period of active duty after September 10, 2001, of at least 36 months;
  2. Were honorably discharged from active duty for a service-connected disability and they served 30 continuous days after September 10, 2001;
  3. Are a dependent eligible for 转移 of Entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill® based on a veteran’s service under the eligibility criteria listed above.
